Size 0, the Key to Happiness?!

"I've been skinny. It's fucking boring." (Kate Winslet)

We all know the current Hollywood trend: size 0. We encounter this fact on everyday basis - the media have been brainwashing us for so long, that we steadily started to believe, that it has always been this way - skinny equals sexy. And there we have our newborn "sicknesses" - anorexia, bulimia... a virus implanted in women by the advertisement industry. So while everyone is panicking about the swine flu, we let ourselves be infected with diseases which take a different route - our mind. And we even think it's normal and consider this a part of our life.
Eating disorders are a popular topic in women/fashion magazines. A journalist rambles about the "unnecessary thinness" on two A4-format pages and reminds everyone, that it is awesome to be a woman and that curves are natural and beautiful. Oh, really? So why then is the rest of the magazine filled with photographs of young girls, who proudly represent the X-ray skeleton look? Hypocrisy and make-believe.
In fighting this problem, we need more than just words. Celebrities and models, the ones people mostly look up to, need to start eating. And even then, it will still take our society loads of time to understand, that beautiful means unique, not thin.
I just wanted to point out this size 0 nonsense and hopefully make some people think :) Here are two celebrities, Monica Bellucci and Drew Barrymore, two beautiful women, who unlike many others do not buy clothes in the kids section.

The internet is full of so called "thinspo" videos, which is an abbreviation of "thinspiration". I am just showing you one of them, one which is extremely disturbing and alarming, at least in my opinion. Is this some kind of a new form of "racism", launched against obese people?
