Now the writing's on the wall, it won't go away. It's an omen., 26.11.2009

It all happened really fast. I wasn't even planning on going to the Prodigy concert, simply because I know (make that past tense) about two songs. But I got convinced that it might be a good idea to go, and since many of my friends were going anyway, I thought to myself why not. And you know what? I think I can say that this was the best concert I've ever been to! We weren't in the front like we usually are, but that didn't really matter. All of us danced our as*es off and pretty much dropped dead on our way home.
I was too into the concert to even consider taking pictures (whoops :)), but I did take some after, while we were chilling on the stairs somewhere. So here is a premium shot of a shirtless guy - woohoo. And the other two are my friends and I after the concert. Each of us bought a Prodigy shirt - once I get a picture of myself in it, I will gladly post :))

MAC - Marvin Gaye Collection

My computer is tripping and is not willing to cooperate. So I can't upload pictures... And there is a lot I wanted to show you guys: Prodigy concert, two birthday parties...
I will see if my laptop decides to be a bit nicer later on. I was just browsing my MAC folder (I am a bit obsessed with :)) and found a special collection I invented a while ago. I believe there was some kind of thread on specktra, which asked people to come up with their own celebrity inspired limited editions. I chose Marvin Gaye, because a) I was going through a little Marvin phase (I wanted to say Gaye phase, but that could be easily misinterpreted :)) and b) the titles of his songs are just way too amazing.
I must have been quite bored, because I wrote a really detailed description for every single item :)) But it's quite interesting, I wish MAC really had a collection like this, as I obviously featured my colours. Here it is :))

Eyeshadow Quad "Let's Get It On"

Masochistic Beauty - real bright red with golden reflects (Veluxe Pearl)
Distant Lover - very light beige grey (Matte)
Love for Sale - peachy gold (Veluxe Pearl)
Sexual Healing - intense burgundy brown (Satin)

Eyeshadows

Wholy Holy - just a different name for "Shroom"
Memory Chest - mid-tone plum with red shimmer (Satin)
Sad Tomorrows - intense black with golden sparkle (Velvet)
Deep-in-it - muted dark brown (Matte)
Forever - bright scarlet (Matte)

Pigment

Alone - red with copper reflects

Blush

Mercy, Mercy Me - soft pale pink (Sheertone)
Witness - bronzed peach (Sheertone)
Ego Trippin' - faded deep plum (Matte)

Lipstick

Cloud 9 - muted hot pink with blue shimmer (Satin)
Rockin' After Midnight - purpled berry (Amplified Creme)
Right On - bright true red (Matte)
I'm Your Puppet - really pale coral (Satin)

Lipglass

Too Young - subtle pink with diamond shimmer (Cream)
Happy-go-lucky - bright pink with golden fairy dust (Frost)
Pride n' Joy - baby pink with icy crystals (Frost)
Baby Say Yes - clear gloss with sparkling glitter (Glitter)

Nailpolish

Hold Me - classic deep dark red (Cream)
Sad Wedding - intense true black (Cream)

That's it :)) I have no idea why there is only one pigment, because I'm a true pigment fan. I am definitely planning to get more of them, but the ones I have so far are truly fab - especially Bright Fuchsia (PRO Pigment)! I don't own a single lipglass, but I would gladly buy all of them, sounds yummy :)) And as in for the nailpolishes - those are just so me.

New Moon: This may hurt just a little.

Omg, I think I just died, resurrected, and then did it again. I almost forgot how much I love Twilight. Jane was amazing!
(this was my FB status, posted after I finished watching New Moon in the cinema)

So, the Twilight madness has found its way to the hearts of girls all over the world again.
Wednesday night, an english cinema in the middle of vienna. Gasps and loud female voices seem to come from everywhere. There are reporters and interviewers... No, you're not witnessing the aftermath of a peculiar cinema murder. This is the premiere of "New Moon", the film version of the second book from the well known Twilight series. Edward Cullen's face appears on the screen and the madness begins. I catch girls and women of all ages staring with their eyes wide open. There are a few men, most of them boyfriends of the above mentioned females, with an expression of a martyr, probably trying to figure out a way to have as many admirers as our vampire god. The Volturi, Alice, Charlie.. The End.
We had tickets to watch both "Twilight" and "New moon" at once and oddly enough, it felt like I've been sitting in the cinema for an hour or so! I'm somewhat heartless ( :)) ), but I've noticed continuous waterfalls of tears all around me. One thing is for sure - this movie is worth watching! My friends and I have agreed, that "New Moon" is far better than "Twilight" and we can't wait for "Eclipse" to come out already.
The trailer... A really amazing trailer, really!

2012: The end is just the beginning

When they tell you not to panic... that's when you run!

As countless posters all around Vienna kept reminding me that the end is near, I decided to spend some time with my bf, just in case buildings start collapsing onto our necks and things go crazy overall. And then the first meteor hit, and then the second--

Never mind :)) What I meant to say is - go watch "2012". It's really good. The special effects are remarkable - how many times have you seen our world come to an end? And end so realistic that on your way home from the cinema, you kept looking around with a nervous twitch in your eye, expecting the path beneath your feet to start breaking. Bonus for the ladies - there is a really hot Russian pilot, Sasha (Johann Urb), in the movie.
And something that really surprised me - Tamara, the Russian sexbomb, is portrayed by a French actress called Beatrice Rosen. Man, I was so sure that she was a 'real' Russian. And I looked her up on YouTube - her English accent (American in that case) is flawless too. Impressive.

And here is how I dressed to watch the end of the world... :))

Bag: Bulaggi

I choose Choos.

Sit back and listen. I will tell you about a life and death matter, a struggle I have undergone in the early hours of this day. A struggle, which has turned my entire life around, gave meaning to my existence and made me feel fulfilled. Are you ready?

I slept over at Celine's place, as the house where I live is really far from the city center. The plan was: we go out for a while, come back and sleep. The real deal? We were successful in fulfilling the first two points, but not surprisingly going to bed was kind of impossible. So we talked on the kitchen floor, listened to The Kooks and watched sick things on TV (don't ask :)) And then, prior to sleeping we set our alarm clocks. Why?! Because on November 14, the Jimmy Choo for H&M Collection got released (which is... today). So now we're already talking life and death matters. I was in desperate need of some zebra and Celine saw red - red shoes that is. And it seemed absolutely reasonable to get three hours of sleep before we hit the shop. I relied on the increased level of aggresiveness and decreased level of tolerance I usually have due to lack of sleep, which would double my chances of getting all the things I wanted. But unfortunately upon waking up I was tired enough to a) mistake Celine for her sister and b) go to the kitchen, attempt to eat a cheese toast and forget to put cheese inside... However, we somehow got to the city around 8 am, which now seems like a miracle to me, as I am dead tired and while I really want to go out - and wear my new shooooes :)) - I can hardly move, so leaving my chair (unless I move to my bed) is Mission Impossible.

8 am, Vienna's first district. We came, we saw... we went to the back of the line and waited. No conquering yet. I knew that only the first 160 people would get to buy the Jimmy Choo shoes&accessories in small groups, meaning that you were quite likely to get what you want. I am really bad at making estimations of "how-many-people-are-standing-in-front-of-me?", so I went all the way to the front and started counting, one by one :)) Most people thought I was mentally disturbed, but that does not bother me. I got to around 130 - which meant - YESSS. And I was surprisingly accurate - I got a wrist band number 38. Now, 160-38=122. So I was the 122nd person to get in. Which seemed to be good enough :)) There were 8 timezones, and we got the penultimate (pink - a good sign :)) one, at 11.15 am.

P1030666
At 9.30, the shop would open its doors though - and because I wanted to get a beautiful Jimmy Choo dress, we just went to Starbucks (which was just accross the street) to sit down and have a cup of something warm. Oddly enough I did not order a double espresso, which is the only type of coffee I drink (I don't drink my coffee with neither sugar nor milk), I got a Chai Tea Latte. Yummy, can't believe I've never tried it before! I also bought their Christmas Blend 2009 coffee - I'm sipping it while writing this post and it's really good.

P1030667
This is a depiction of the pink wristbands and the neverending fight of BlackBerry (me) versus iPhone (Celine). I win, yes. But anyway... When we left Starbucks, there was another (yet another, and not the last) queue awaiting us...
P1030672

As you can see the shop assistants, the manager and all the staff were looking out the window, laughing at us :)) Oh well. What followed the opening of the entrance was very ludicrous indeed. I was sincerely scared when a fat woman (or a man, she had a moustache) pushed me and I flew 3 meters away from her. And I guess I have some chronical lack of pushiness, because when I finally got to the racks, all of the beautiful dresses were gone. Oh well... Shoes. We waited for about 3 hours - yes, we realize we're utter losers - dying of exhaustion.
P1030676
(I loooove my dominatrix latex leggins :))
11.15 am, Kaerntner Strasse, H&M.
She moved closer and closer untill she touched them. She brushed her fingers over the soft zebra print fabric, ran her fingertips across the soles and found herself in zebra heaven. Meanwhile Celine was seeing red. "I'm coming for you, babies!" she shouted, enraged after having seen multiple women come and go, stealing her little piece of red strappy paradise. And then it happened. They were in her hands and she whipped out her credit card and smiled.
P1030679

P1030681
So finally, here they are... :)))
P1030685
Celine - notice the matching nail polish. That's gotta be destiny.
P1030686
...and my beautiful zebras.

The important thing is - I got my little Jimmies sitting on a chair right next to me, watching me as I write this post. They're my zebra babies <3

The Juliette Lewis concert was off the hook crazy. Seriously. Juliette blew me! (my mind :P ) I expected a lot having heard a lot from my friend Nat whom I went with, because she's been to quite a few of Juliette's concerts already. With the Licks that is. But man, was she awesome. Of course, typical Nat and I, we were lucky enough to be standing next to a very "sexy" Austrian dude - he must have been about 50 years old - who was dancing as if he were connected straight to the speakers. And it was also funny when Juliette told everyone to give a kiss to the ones standing next to them and I got a peck on the cheek from some guy standing behind me. I did not have the courage to turn around and look at him, because with my luck, I'm almost sure it wasn't Brad Pitt. Oh well... :))
Because Juliette is such a creative little devil, I decided to put a few kilograms of bright sparkly makeup on my face... :))

I love you, Jimmy Choo!

Today, while sitting in a taxi with le boyfriend, I was happily blabbering about next week's Jimmy Choo release when he innocently asked: "But don't you have enough shoes already?" At first I thought I misheard - come on, who would ask such questions. But then (well, I have realized this before, but in that instant it was sort of crucial) I realized, that despite the deep understanding he has for me, he is a boy. Whaaat a discovery, I know. But come on, a girl never has enough shoes. Yes, we all realize that our shoe cabinets are overflowing, and that as a result of this our wallets are.. not. But there is a simple - and true - explanation for this. The closet is too small to shelter our Needs and the wallet? Shoes are too expensive. No guys, it is not that we buy expensive shoes.. it's just.. shoes are really expensive Overall. Blame the economic crisis, blame the shoe manufacturers, blame.. blame anyone but us. We're girls.

Is that a good excuse? I hope so. Because next week, November 14, I will buy the entire Jimmy Choo for H&M collection! Ok, that might not happen and is probably not even the plan, but I will not leave the store empty handed. I am aiming to get the zebra and the red heels, which are both absolutely stunning. I am disappointed, that some of the items which I really liked will not be available where I live. But that's just life :)) For more info about the collection check out the H&M website (did you know that H&M stands for Hennes and Mauritz? I didn't :))

Oh Juliette, Juliette! Wherefore art thou Juliette?

Tomorrow I will lose my virginity to Juliette Lewis. Can't wait!

Dolly meets Little Red Riding Hood

I thought the previous post was pretty long already, so I'll just write a new one to show you guys the awesomest coat I have seen in a long time. It was so Little not-Red Riding Hood that I felt like jumping around with a basket full of candy (I'm not really sure that's adequate..) So without further ado, here comes the Halloween doll fighting the cold weather.

Not only is this the funniest picture of the lot, you can also see my black shiny belt and my beloved scarf on it :)) And on the next one, Celine and I in front of a Russian memorial :)) The fountain was, as you can see, beautifully lit, and the entire square looked really magic with tiny rays of pink and purple dancing around the dark corners. Wow, I'm getting really poetic. Time to say goodbye I suppose :)) <3
