Barcelona: Barri Gòtic

The Barri Gòtic (Gothic Quarter) is a very beautiful part of Barcelona - it is certainly not the place to be after dusk, but one finds loads of interesting little streets and tiny buildings with fascinating histories. The first photo was taken at Plaça Catalunya - as much as I liked Barcelona, I must say that the square was nothing special. If you're in Barcelona and you are very short on time, I recommend you spend your time exploring another place than this square. But then again, right beneath it is Portal de l'Àngel, which is a big pedestrian shopping street. Interesting info: this is Spain's second most expensive street as far as rent is concerned!

One of the most fascinating things in the Barri Gòtic were the doors - as we visited this place on January 6, most shops were closed and so we got a proper look at them. The following one is a door to an old philatelist shop.

This photo was taken in a street called Carrer del Bisbe (Bishop Street). There were lots of street artists - for one an amazing violin player whom we met three times while in Barcelona (we were there for three days!) at different places. Magic :))

And now here are some beautiful photos of the atrium of Catedral de la Santa Creu i Santa Eulàlia (Cathedral of the Holy Cross and Saint Eulalia).

I'm not sure if I should post all the photos from Barcelona, because you guys don't seem to be that interested in them - what do you think? Let me know! :))
