Lost in Translation

P1140113 copyhh

Bon jour, bon jour! Despite my lingering depression from the incredible amount of work piled up on my desk and my ever-increasing fear of going outdoors (I mean, what sensible person would waste their time just enjoying the sunshine when they can sit in a dark room and solve equations, am I right?) I decided to leave my house and take some blog photos. One word about this outfit - successful with men. Like really successful, to the point when it gets uncomfortable. I guess it's like an explosive mixture of sexretary (the "x" being a deliberate replacement of the "c" to make sure you get the right idea of what secretaries I am talking about) and the innocent school girl look... And yes, I do realize that wasn't one word.

I found this amazing performance while procrastinating being very productive and watching stupid educational videos on YouTube. Just thought I'd share it with you!

PS: If you're wondering why this post is called "Lost in Translation", this is why - I remember there was some object with a zebra print in the movie. I'm not even sure if this is plain retarded or purely genius of me.

He's an Xbox and I'm more Atari.

My camera officially hates me and to prove it to me, it decided to blur whatever photos I take. I managed to salvage some of the sharpness of the images through my acquaintance with Photoshop, but they still look quite crappy. Amidst all the studying that must be done, I'm afraid this is just about all the interesting stuff I have to tell you. Yeah, you're right, not even this was interesting... FML.

I decided to open up a YouTube channel, where I can post some of my song covers and possibly also some of my originals, if I ever get around to putting them together with my band. The good news is we're semi-functioning again and working on my friend's newest song at the moment. Yay! :)

Busy Bee

This semester I just don't seem to have much time for blogging - with my finals coming up, I have enough to worry about and most of my time is taken up by studying and revision. I don't even have time to go shopping! And trust me, I'm totally out of clothes, my wardrobe desperately needs a fresh breeze in the form of a few new pretty dresses and shoes.

These crappy photos were taken before I went to a friend's 18th birthday party. If I may say so myself, my outfit was really pretty, so although my camera just went totally nuts and refused to make any photos of reasonable quality, I decided to put them up anyway :)

How to Wear: Leopard Jacket

Since spring seems to have no intention of gracing Europe with its presence, I decided that having another feature on coats might not be that bad of an idea. A leopard coat, in my opinion, is a very sexy piece of clothing and, admittedly, is not for everyone. But if you are bold enough to pull it off - and I believe most of my readers are - it will probably become a real staple in your wardrobe. What I like about it, is that it is able to transform a jeans-and-shirt combo into a beautiful outfit with an artsy flair.

As you can see here, many girls just opt out to wear a faux fur leopard jacket to complement their, otherwise minimalistic, outfit. This looks particularly good on girls with darker hair and more pronounce features as the ones shown above - if you are a ethereal type with golden locks, this might wash you out a little.

But if you're going for something attention catching and very bold, I suggest you pair your leopard jacket with some color-blocking. As you can see, it does not really matter what shades you opt out for but I do suggest you keep it to two colors and no more, otherwise the whole ensemble might become overpowering. Red might be a good starting point, but it tends to look classy (or, if overdone, trashy) rather than edgy, so decide what you're going for first.

Below you can post your suggestions for the next item of clothing you'd like to see featured in one of my "How to Wear" posts! :))

Platonic Love

So, the Platonic love I talk about in the title has nothing to do with Platonic love, it has to do with love of Plato himself. I'm really grateful to him for writing the "Republic", because it is only thanks to that I am still sitting in front of my computer, analyzing whether he should be seen as a totalitarian or not.

This outfit is really rather casual but I thought "what the hell, I'll post it anyway!" It's not like I'm always dressed up, head to toe. Although lately I have been feeling quite dressy - if it weren't for an annoying cold I caught on Friday (I know I caught it on Friday because that is like the only day I left my house in the past... century?) I'd totally be walking around in skirts the whole time. But my time will come, muhaha.

Heal the World

Hello my dear readers! I haven't updated my blog in about a month, because I'm in a major whirlwind of revision and studying for my final exams. I'm going to try and be a better blogger, but please be patient with me until May :)

If you haven't heard it yet, please turn on your TV or go on YouTube - the North of Japan was struck by a horrible earthquake of 8.9 magnitude and a tsunami just about 2 hours ago. It's a terrible catastrophe and only adds more sadness to the overall situation the world seems to be in at the moment. The political turmoil in many Northern African nations along with countless natural catastrophes happening  in Australia, New Zealand and now in Japan should be a reminder to all of us to think about what is really important in life. There is by no means a single answer to that question, but I think a time like this really calls for people in the unaffected regions to stop and think about their lives.
